Therapy for Those Coping with Life Transformations

Become all you were meant to be

I provide therapeutic services to people undergoing major life transformations. Examples of issues I have helped clients cope with: Death of a spouse; loss of communities of friends to AIDS, cancer, etc.; diagnosis of a life-threatening illness; shifting sexual orientation; transgender issues of various kinds, including partner issues, support for all stages of transition, and support for those whose life path may not include transition. I also provide consultation and educational services about gender identity and transgender issues. If you would like to make an appointment and you are a new client, please visit my Client Information page.

The first printing of my book, Transition and Beyond: Observations on Gender Identity, has sold out. I am in the process of updating the book, as a second edition; if you would like to be notified when it is available for purchase, please e-mail me.

To download the client handout referenced in my book (The Many Levels of Transition), click here.

Read what Kate Bornstein, James Green, Helen Boyd, and Arlene Istar Lev have to say about Transition and Beyond.

Map to my current downtown Portland office

NOTE: As of Sept. 20, 2010, I will be relocating my office to the Q Center, located at 4115 N Mississippi Ave.

Q Center has become a hub of queer community, offering meeting and event space. In addition, Q Center rents office space to various businesses and community organizations, and I'm pleased to become an office tenant. Among the benefits this move offers are: gender-neutral bathrooms, a waiting area, and free parking. Q Center is close to the yellow line MAX (Prescott stop), I-5, and is on the #4 bus line.
